How does one get over the rejection? Even tho it's inevitable? I always enter into a deep rage.

I've been writing seriously for maybe four years now, getting particularly serious in the last two. I've had 5 stories and one essay published during that time. I've probably been rejected upwards of 100 times.
The trick is to really not care. Don't give a shit. Most of the time these editors have a distinct goal in mind when cultivating the image of their journals. At the same time, the most important skill I've found is to be discerning. If a story of mine gets rejected 5 times then I seriously consider just scrapping it. If the idea is good I'll rewrite it later...if I absolutely love it then I'll keep it. Otherwise it's gone, forgotten.
You just keep trying, there's not trick. Becoming a published writer is not hard or rare. It just requires a cultivation of skill and time and hard work that most people don't want to give over to something that operates entirely 'on spec'.
