The Manuscript Found in Saragossa
Its sort of like 18th century Pynchon + mysticism with a very interesting, layered narrative structure

The Other Side of the Mountain by Michel Bernanos. Really simple and tight narrative, and short too, but it's one of the most beautiful and horrifying stories I've ever read. Think a more surreal, paranoid and pessimistic Algernon Blackwood; lots of fantastic imagery and a mood of disquiet that just keeps building and building until somehow you broach awe. I physically had chills reading it
This one is a good one. I think I've seen it a few times, it's not really mystical or anything but captures a certain detached emotion I enjoyed.
In my opinion this deserves mention with the greats of the 20th century
