The ghost of Gore Vidal rolls up from the floor. He nabs Wallace, frogmarches him out back, and beats the snot out of him.

Returning with broom in hand, Vidal smashes all the bottles and glass work. And with that, he torches the place.

"Your rapture, gentlemen," Vidal intones, and the last with a smirk, "final call."

Vidal exits, pausing just outside to throw Vollmann over his shoulder. With his new toy so secured he strides off, fading into the endless and ever decadent night.
