This is one giant fucking gimmick, even by postmodern standards

so what. it's still amazing.
Why do you think so? I plan to read it soon, i thoughts those are some surrealistic stories with fancy prose, to read while stoned

>le second person xD
>He didn't ejaculate upon becoming intimately involved in the bedroom scene as a physically arrested mentally invested reader
>He didn't wholeheartedly question his own sanity while looking through the maze of mirrors in the5th or 6thschizotypal chapter

This guy gets it
I'm to read Le Citta' Invisibili. Never read any Calvino before but I'm looking forward to it. If I enjoy it, is this the next step?
all of his books are gimmicky, but i feel this has a weaker gimmick than others
>>9028023
Its honestly a great book.
Pretty comfy tho
Tfw my got my mom to read this she said she didn't understand it but said she enjoyed it nonetheless
>>9029181
This was my first and only Calvino so far. It's pretty good, famalamadingdong
>>9028023
Try Cosmicomics, it is what real science fiction should be.
>>9028082
this is one of my favorite novels.
i tried to read this once while stoned (it was the chapter of the guy moving out of his room while being "replaced"), and my heart started beating so heavily that i put it down.
his prose fluidly shifts from absurd and intellectual to physical and deeply erotic. truly, he was a master of the craft.
>p.s. the difference between calvino and other postmodern authors is like the difference between dali and surrealists: dali actually knew how to paint well.
is he worth "learning" Italian for if I already speak two romance languages and read Latin fairly well?

italian is probably the least controversial language in which to translate a book into english.
