he did what Douglas Adams tried to do, only a little better. after forty-one novels, though, the joke was wearing a bit thin.

It's mostly entertainment, infused occasionally with some deeper meaning. As far as fantasy goes, he's one of the few authors worth reading.

Great fun, nothing that'll blow your mind but I don't know what people expect of production-line parody fantasy novels. I find him a bit, I dunno, cutesy maybe at some times? Twee? But I'm an edgy fucker so that's probably why.
