Heart of Darkness, then Nostromo.

I just finished Victory and it was the first/only Conrad I've read

It was beautifully written and I enjoyed the overall themes but it felt a little long-winded at points. Are his other works similar?

Yes. Nostromo. The nigger of the narcissus and the secret agent are all worth reading though. I gave up half way through under western eyes. Sounded interesting as a riposte to dosto but was incredibly tedious.

Right. Went to my local bookstore and got Nostromo (the only Conrad they had). Will start reading tonight.
