And as far as language learning goes spelling is the easiest part to learn because you easily learn all those words just by writing them more than once. The reason that so many words are spelled and pronounced oddly is because English is a mix of a variety of different languages. A lot of those words have their roots in other languages. Also English is very monosyllabic and doesn't have a huge variety of sounds that can be made, this makes it easy when you're speaking but leads to some odd spelling or entirely reusing words for other things. But honestly if you have trouble knowing the difference or when to use any of the words in that post then you're just dumb. After the first time you should never be confused by any of those words again

Also English is monosyllabic and most words are one to two syllables.
