Why does Knut Hamsun never get discussed here?
>never get discussed
has his own thread already... sage
> tfw when you knut but your books keep suckin
Why does Witold Gombrowicz never get discussed here?
Hamsun is discussed here, atleast his most famous works are. But he isn't a meme yet.
If his name was Kunt Hamsun he would be discussed more often

Hunger, Pan, Mysteries and Growth of the Soil were all great. Victoria was Hamsun lite. That's all I've read.
>>8999354
Check out Dreamers if you want more Hamsun lite, but this time with ahappy ending
Markens grode is top.
Hunger is a master piece, to be honest
Also, he mailed his Nobel prize to Goebbels

A few days ago there was a thread about Pornografia. I contributed by suggesting that Ferdydurke is even better. Is this enough for you?
>>8999295
>mfw Anglos think Knut is pronounced 'newt'
>>8999288
Hamsun's a genius. /lit/ users don't mention him because they are memes that circlejerk each other over copies of pynchon/wallace/joyce they haven't read.
prepare for a deluge of /mu/ shitposters since fleet foxes has a new album coming out named after one of his characters from hunger.
>>8999539
The reason people don't talk about him is because, as you say, he is a genius. His stories are great and everyone loves him. It's the same reason we don't talk much about montaigne. It just ends up being a thread of fawning which can get boring fast.
>>8999288
Because he's not handsome
>>8999288
Because no one cares about Norwegians, Norway is a meme country
>>8999691
say that to my face fucker and not online and see what happens
>>8999654
thank god i'm leaving /lit/ for good.
The Long Ships has been a recurring meme on lit
>>8999527
Nah that anon thought it was "nuht".
How's he supposed to know Norway was smart enough not to use silent K's
>>9000076
Not written by Hamsun fampai

This is true. No one cares about Norway except Norwegians themselves.
>>9000130
>obscure author from an irrelevant country
>literally the first guy who used several techniques in his writing that other people adopted like the stream of consciousness that Joyce used and is considered one of the greatest writers of the 20th century
Ameriburger education.

Drunkard here. He's fucking obscure that's why.
>>9001893
>it's supposed to be bad :^)
What a success.
>>8999680
Most people dont like him, especially not norwegians. They consider him a traitor to their country
>>9000152
Swede here, they live in their own small bubble a really rich small bubble
>>9001608
That's a good question. I only know of Dostoevsky.
These guys who are trashing hunger are pathetic. I am literally laughing at their lack of intelligence.
I'd nut on his hand, son if you know what I am saying here.
>>8999527
its pronounced Kuhnut
Just finished Hunger -- a good read. Some say the first modernist writer. Whatever one believes you can feel the characters pangs, time shifting realities, and borderline schizophrenia. Very enjoyable and highly recommended.
>>8999288
Because he's unanimously loved
>Favourite
Growth of the Soil
>Underrated
