It takes seconds to get a definition on the Internet. It makes sense why someone would reject your sorry ass

If he's not just fobbing you off and it's a genuine observation it would mean that you're copying your inspirations perhaps too directly (we all copy, but the best copycats artfully obscure their sources), or else in your attempt to strike novelty you've accidentally stumbled onto a formula that is already well known.
