ok i will thanks!
it's ok but pretty shitty if you compare it with the rest of Hesse work. I would say avoid it, read Steppenwolf or Demian instead if you're interested in Hesse. tho if you're interested in self-help and/or very optimistic books, then yes, go ahead with this crap.

Well, it's not Hesse's best but I still think that Siddhartha is a nice book, also since IIRC it's one of his older works you can notice the increase in quality from Siddhartha to Demian

Read it and find out. It's literally short enough to read in one day.
I read this book after reading so much positive shit, but after finishing I felt somewhat blue-balled (can't figure out why), and didn't feel very much think positively of the book on the whole. 3/5

finished it yesterday, agree 100%. Just read Steppenwolf.

Finished Steppenwolf the day before yesterday, agree 100%. Just read Steppenwolf.

Just read Glass Bead Game

I got a similar feeling. i think its because siddhartha just has these epiphanies and just "magically" finds the answer. it just seemed a bit shallow and vague to me.

I dont think you should go into it expecting it to be a serious self-help book. There are morals and lessons to be learned but most are about as useful as if i were to tell you to "listen to your inner voice". Nonetheless, it is a good book and reads easily. nothing to really lose. you might really love it
obviously this is just my opinion. im open to discussion

Listen to this guy, Steppenwolf will blow your mind while this will be like "meh"
>>8980567
It's his most famous novel.

I know this is supposed to be Hesse's Meisterwerke, but I found it pretty dry.
Loved Steppenwolf though.
No, not really.
It is exactly the same book as Paulo Coelho's "The Alchemist", except people like this one because it is older.

I was going to read it but the premise doesn't sound enticing to me. Sounds lame
Is it really about Buddhism ?
