Is Mark Twain just a meme of what?
>>8967272
no, he's a meme of who.
>>8967272
we're not allowed to admit to liking him here because 1) he wrote works that were anti-racism, 2) he is commonly taught in American middle school and high school, and 3) his books aren't 1000-page postmodern "masterpieces" with 100 pages of footnotes

This isn't some hivemind community like Reddit, you philistine.

Maybe instead of being pleb u should read one of his books and then decide that for yourself instead of appealing to a bunch of shitposters, racists, sexists, and overall plebs for advice.
most folks on /lit/ became suspicious of anything with mainstream popularity a long time ago, and like >>8967307 puts it, he's required reading in most middle schools in America. That is about as mainstream as you can get.
I respect Twain because he has a consistent and very personalized writing style. He has the bearing of a dude who never tried to be anything but himself, even though he never seemed to figure out what 'himself' meant in that context.
