Anyone else get sudden flashes of absurdist thoughts throughout the day? They come and go quickly, with no warning. Things like "why does getting ice cream makes me happy, it's meaningless", or "why do people work, when they are all going to die anyway". Despite disagreeing with these thoughts, they keep coming.
What are the rec absurdist/existencialist literature I can get into so I can make sense of these thoughts?

>why does getting ice cream makes me happy, it's meaningless
Your brain's designed by evolution to seek sweet (aka full of carbohydrates) things, hence it makes you happy to get them
>why do people work, when they are all going to die anyway
Because not working leads to early death from starvation.
Seriously, what is up with teenagers these days, it's basic shit man
this better be bait
I think the term you are looking for is reductionist thinking.

>why do people work, when they are all going to die anyway"
Because they are miserable human cattle and enslaved to capitalism

Oh yeah. One of the reasons I started writing because I was getting too weird. Being able to encourage and channel the absurdness has helped; though I"m probably weirder in the end. At least I'm productive now.
Limits of Vision was a book which, initially, I thought I HATED. The crazy bitch character has an imagination so wild you can't tell if the authors' fucking with you or not...
But as I've cultivated my absurd thoughts for writing, I fear I've become like that girl... lost in my head, kinda floating in and out of reality. And, if I'm lucky, theres no one around to interrupt me!
