There are only two books, ever, that I dropped halfway through-- 100 Years of Solitude and As I Lay Dying. The latter was fucking horrendous, and I have never read a Faulkner since.

Same senpai, but with The Unvanquished. Faulkner's prose is just a goddamn trudge

100 years of solitude really was pretty damn bad, wasn't it?

As I Lay Dying completely exceeded my expectations
Sound and the Fury. Brilliant book, plus perfect for you fags because there is weird incestuous stuff that will excite all.

I've tried 5 times to read As I Lay Dying and quit about 30 pages in because I don't know what the fuck they're saying (was the guy masturbating on his porch? and his brother was too? what?)
Sound and the Fury wasn't that difficult and I quite enjoyed it.
