i have no solutions, but don't want anyone else to know this, so i simply use words and terms to disguise the fact that i'm personally in deep confusion about everything. i never admit it, but i know all too well that others have gained enlightenment and deep understanding of themselves and of the world. but i know even more that i will never have it. this bred in me a profound feeling of envy. consequently i now play games with words and concepts to get by, to fool others, spread confusion and explore cul-de-sacs since i've no way of finding or traveling the high roads toward reality. i'm envious of other men's work and achievement. and secretly know how pathetic i am. so i subtly debunk everything discovered and made by those i envy, even if it means discounting everything that has been done and said by the greats. what is more, if i practice and do this expertly enough, i'll fool most people around me, and actually feel better about my self and personal lot. i might even attract some media attention and some followers. i might attract people even more confused and lost than i am myself, and they'll really dig me. the world turns out to be full of such ghosts looking for light in someone else. so i perfect my pseudo-philosophical drivel, cut off the end of other people's sentences, refuse to answer direct questions, and hope i can hypnotize them with my oriental mystique. i'm U.
