Other than the edgy answers (Bible and Qur'an)?
I dunno, maybe Gatsby or Catcher in the Rye, though I still like the latter.
Slaughterhouse-Five

new testament
To Kill A Mockingbird
Only considered a classic because it's the only book most dumbass Americans have read all the way through.

I think you mean obvious answer. The Bible and the Qur'an are pivotal to the understanding of history but they aren't really impressive works in terms of complexity or even innovation .
They're fairly simplistic yet incredibly influential works of theology.

The original scroll was fucking amazing, anon. I agree

Overrated? Maybe. A thrill of a read? Definitely.

Is there a big difference? I've just finished reading it the other day and was wondering whether the original scroll was worth looking at.

I don't know, I've heard there is. I haven't read the edited down and first publication of On the Road. There were moments in the original scroll that I really can't see the publisher okaying.
Besides, it was one long chunk of text with no paragraph breaks or chapter breaks. It was wild I thought.

Anything by Hunter S. Thompson.
