I have read the Castle of Otranto, but thanks a lot for the rest - I haven't heard of those. You made making this thread worth it!
Here is a list of all those that I read:castle of otranto,frankenstein,dracula,the monk,jane eyre,Wuthering Heights,Legend of Sleepy Hollow,The Vampyre,Carmilla ,
The Picture of Dorian Grey,Various of Poe,A Sicilian Romance,The Mysteries Of uldopho,Turn of The Screw,Phantom of The Opera,Hunchback of Notre-Dame and Dr.Jekyll and Mr.Hyde.
This is not books, but I love Herzog's Nosferatu (even more then the original silent film) due to how true it stayed to Gothic literature.
can someone explain to me what german romanticism is, or just what romanticism is?

Not to be confused with Romance, it is the anti-thesis of the Enlightenment and deals largely on; emotions, history, nature and the supernatural among others.
Lord Byron, Percy Bysshe Shelly and William Wordsworth are good example of English Romantic poets.
