Did my GCSE english like 3 years ago and it was pretty good. Inspector Calls may be utterly ridiculous socialist propaganda, but it's fun nonetheless.
The other texts we studied were Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde, which I enjoyed at the time, and Macbeth. All in all a decent course for a young lad, so I don't know what your claim is based on.

The exact same, all the students sounded like they wanted to kill themselves. I was the only one who actually put any effort.
