I play banjo and bodhran (starting to learn piano but I'm really bad still), do some photography and photoshop, and I like to ski in the winter.

learning an instrument is a relatively cheap hobby as long as you don't go crazy with the gear that nobody needs, also you could get into drawing or whittling, both pretty cheap

If photography is too expensive for you, i'd suggest drawing or designing which is somewhat related if you want to stay in visual stuff.
