I don't actually like the guys commentary that much. A lot of it seems fairly self evident, and other parts of it are just not useful unless you're a serious vedic student. I'd recommend reading a copy without all the drivel, I had to drop it a hundred pages in, which is sad because the actual religious story is quite nice.

Agreed. Also the translatoin, and subsequent commentary, is a bit narrow-minded and I feel like Prabhupada took a few liberties in turning what is a classic, into series of plaititudes that support his views. I mean it's not super-obvious or anything all the time, but I wouldnt recommend the Prabhupada translation too much. More a fan of the Swami Sivananda version, published by the divine life society.
