If I already know about the book, the cover plays no role, but it does make a difference on whether I'll pick it up in the store.
Kind of. If a book has multiple editions the cover will be a factor, behind translation quality and notes though.
I am also much less likely to buy a plain old orange (or green) pingin book
If the text within is going to be the same (same edition, transaltion, w.e) I'll go for the more aesthetic cover but other than that I'll go for the better edition regardless of what it looks like

I saw an edition of the brothers karamazov with on the back a list of reasons why i should read it.
So i bought a second hand version instead.

if i can't find a book with a cover that is pleasing to the eye i will just go and read it on my kindle cause i need no ugly shit in my library
