The one thing that brings me back is the nightmare I'll miss out on neatly packaged information or a new perapective/insight, or some wicked humor.

I feel its almost a hoarder syndrome.

Anons who haven't been here long, realize this place is way worse than Facebook. Facebook is just other people, here its anything from how to fix something, or someone dug through shit already, and is parading diamonds around for others who know they exist, from knowledge to processes, to the very things that describe why we do what we do.

To be fair, the "wicked humor" part is becoming a nuisance, as well as the packaged information.
It was OK back when there was a certain mystery ("you don't talk about /b/" shit), but nowadays, it's such an homogenized thing that it only makes you feel like this place is political propaganda.
The humor used to be offensive but funny, but now, the only way people can get a laugh is by being offensive without caring about being funny or not.
The information packages are now based on stuff you can get elsewhere, but introduced to discussions between voices that usually sound the same. Spiral of silence is a real thing here.
It's not worse than Facebook, obviously, but it's hardly any better. We've come to a point where there are no places where you can go and expect a good discussion, IRL or on the internet.
