Anyone read her? Any good?
What a Jew You can immediately tell she's a classic 70s New York Jew. 70s New York Jews are one of my favorite subgenres of Jewry

True she's a Jew but I wanna know if she's a true Jew

You couldn't have chosen a more flattering picture. It really captures the Jew in her, ya know?

some of the humor in metropolitan life has aged, but it's still good
definitely a better orator than she is a writer though

I feel like she's just a witty person who probably writes eloquently and wryly, but doesn't have anything meaningful to say beyond typical Vassar-tier "I'm a bit more educated and insightful than the average person, so here's a deconstructive and cynical view of things to give you some perspective on the matter" tripe, resulting in writing that doesn't really aspire to anything particularly technically impressive, stylistically innovative, or artistically laudable.
But, you know. Maybe that's just me.

She used to go on NBC-era Letterman as like the 3rd guest just because she could take a cab over there.
"So, Fran, you got a new book coming out? anything to plug?"
"No, I haven't had anything out in a while, so I figured I could make some money being on the show."
I'm paraphrasing here, but something like that. Was pretty funny.

She's a creative talker, a heavy reader, and she produces ok writing

Found a better one. Before all those packs of cigarettes took their toll.
She looks so much like Geoffrey Rush
