Finished reading most of the Sherlock Holmes stories by Doyle. Are there any other authors or decent crime stories that you guys could recommend me?

You could steal wine from some store and then kill someone. Remember to clean it later.

Fuck, mistook /diy/ for /lit/ again.
Dashiell Hammet's pretty comfy (Red Harvest, Maltese Falcon, Glass Key).
Guy worked for the Pinkerton Detective Agency and everything.
Raymond Chandler is pretty comfy
Postman always rings twice. Not straight crime but Natchez Burning and subsequent were great.
Crime and Punishment
Raffles, by Hornung (Doyle's brother in law) is pretty much sherlock holmes as a criminal (in atmosphere, style)
Cotton Comes to Harlem by Chester Himes is more of a blaxploitation cop drama than a classic murder mystery but it's awesome (movie's really good too, and the cops are called gravedigger jones and coffin ed and that's always fun)
The Maigret series by Simenon is decent but I read them ages ago and couldn't tell you where to start.
