I'd love to see pic related interviewed by Alex Jones. I really think they'd be on the same wavelength.

Alex Jones is an idiot saying nonsense to sell survival shit to paranoid retards and boner pills for fatasses that can't get it up thanks to low testosterone.
Orwell would punch Jones in the throat until he died from it for being so fucking stupid.

I want to read his follow-up to 'The Work of Art in the Age of Mechanical Reproduction' and see what he makes of the internet in regards to his philosophy

forgot pic
Except Orwell was an anarcho-communist. Jones would have hated him.

People who knew Orwell described him as some awkward softly-spoken guy who couldn't really argue his point well enough in speech.
Jones would just shout him down the whole time.

Thompson
Hitchens
Breitbart
Reminder that all the Thompson threads dealing with Clinton on election day, on which we also discussed in depth what Hitchens and Breitbart had written about them, were deleted by lefty mods, and many of us got 3 day bans. For discussing literature in /lit/.
My own ban said something along the lines of "/lit/ is to discuss literature, not to roleplay" just because we were wondering what Thompson would've written about Clinton today, and trying to figure it out from what he had already written.

>Anarchist
Orwell was a filthy commie though, funny enough. Except he wasn't a leninist. He was a Trotskyist. Which is why he went so hard against the leninists.

The thing most non-left leaning people despise about people who espouse left wing political opinions is their hypocrisy, their narcissism, their snideness, just how disingenuous they can be - all in, the tendency to operate by an ends justifies the means creed. George Orwell is unique for recognising these tendencies in the socialists as much as the cruelty and injustice of the traditionalist or the fascist right. He's a hard man to hate because he's so damn honest.

Unironically Nietzsche.

Mods are global.
The CTR-related mods were on full damage control mode on election day.

I have said in a recent blog post that I think it's incredible that such a political writer like george orwell has such non partisan appeal. I think it's simply because his writing reflects a non partisan issue, which is that human beings don't want to be told how to think, or be examined by the government for descent. Funny enough, this is why I think there may be some truth to it when people say that both political parties are two sides of the same coin, because essentially that's what controlling society either way regardless of political ideology will lead to, is revolt. This is orwell's bipartisan appeal.
I wish Christopher Hitchens was still alive today, I wish george orwell was still alive today. It would be a great paring, because Hitchens was an orwell scholar.

>Rightwingers hate lefties because they think they're creeps, but I like Orwell because I took the time to read him.
Some people who ID as left, aren't very leftist and aren't at all into too deep a political theory on it. It's mostly emotional. So too is the right. They're just as guilty of rooting for their team in politics. See color on field, root for them. Think no further.
The thing everyone needs to get a hold of is the liberal-capitalist propaganda. "I'm a liberal" in the US means "I'm a leftist" though it isn't necessarily true, same as the guy calling himself a conservative but is actually a liberal capitalist or even a fascist. The language has been screwed up.

And lose in the shouting.
>>8868822
He was a democratic-socialist. Nothing "filthy" about it. He went "hard" on the Leninists because they betrayed the revolution. Same as Washington
>>8868923
Rereading 1984 and it's even more chilling the second time. It's a bit of a reminder of what the ultimate goal of a political party is: to remain in power.
What would Orwell think about the experimental CIA seapeople and seachildren living in underground watertanks that Alex Jones saw with his very own eyes?
Haha the revolution failed because of traitors and Leninists not because my ideology is fundamentally unworkable! also fuck ideologues
