Been meaning to buy Iliad, Odyssey and the Aeneid.

But for whatever reason, the three books bought seperatly from Everyman Library(hardback) is cheaper than the go-to Penguin boxset(pocket).

How much worse is the Fitzgerald translation than the Fagles translation?

Obviously hardback is better than pocket, but the hardbacks are Fitzgerald translations and the pockets are Fagles.

Most comparisons online seem to give the Fagles translations the edge.

Fagles seems better and most seems to say that Fitzgerald takes too many liberties with his translation.
