No, but it kinda teaches you how to think. You have to read some more difficult stuff to really get that benefit tho.

Better vocabulary and a general better understanding of people's motives but that can, of course, mislead you in assumptions that do not correspond to reality. Actually, that's one of the problems I find worse with literature, back to when I used to read at least a book a week. Nowadays I read way less but it seems that the "digestion" of what I read is better processed.

Depends on how far you got before you quit your education in quantitative studies; but for the most part you should probably learn through multivariable calc, differential equations, and linear algebra at a minimum.
