Yes
Jazz
No
Music distracts from the text and the text distracts from the music. In the end I'd fully enjoy neither.

Any serious reading I do, I do in silence. Just as any serious listening I do, I do without reading.
But while I'm browsing the internet or doing some easy schoolwork, I listen to mostly jazz, certain types of "classical" music, funk, or vaporwave-ish stuff.
I usually do my most focused reading when it's silent. But sometimes I like to listen to nature sounds - birds and rain - that sorta stuff.
Whenever I write though, which is fairly rare at this point. I would listen to music, keep my inspired and creative.
Yes. But it has to be instrumental. No vocals. Mostly jazz and ambient.
Look François reading is just you and the book no music or anything that keep you away from the words
Not OP here.
Not all of us are lucky enough to live in a quiet ambient. Buildings are so fucking shitty that I listen to every damn thing my neighbours do. So, what would be good instrumental music for one to read, in my situation? Id like some kind of 'landscape music'.
Also, those of you who use earplugs, Im considering getting some for mind soundproofing purposes, what'd you rec?
no.
