What makes a book good? I know it's subjective but there must be some standards.

I think that a book is good when I desire to read it, especially when I'm not actively reading it.
You know, you'll be at work, in class, at the gym and it just scratches away at the back door of your conscious mind. Like you're excited to get back to your comfy space and snuggle up, buckle down, and just enjoy.
And, when I say enjoy, I don't mean it has to be particularly joyful or fun content, tone, themes, etc. I enjoy when books bring me to dark places just as much as when books bring me to nice, bright places.
