what about the second half? I'm op and I really can't keep on reading because it's fucking boring and in this period I feel like I'm more into classic and elegant prose; but if the second half is better I'll skip to it and just go on...

I'd hate to discourage you but the second half of the book is more of the same narration and worldview except he stops traveling and things slow down a bit. If you're already bored by the first half, I think you'll like the second half even less.
