What would be the best translation of the new testament? NASB? NRSV? Barnstone's translation?

For what purpose does this "best" entail?
KJV for maximum aesthetics. Accuracy doesn't matter because it's a fairy tale anyways.

I was thinking accuracy.

Lattimore's
we used to have a very diligent lattimore advocate but I don't think he lurks anymore. Anyhow you should look into his highly regarded translation
Willis Barnstone's is the translation for our current day and age.

This sounds like what I'm looking for. Thank you.

Pic related.
It's an incredibly lucid translation thanks to lattimores unique vocabulary and background. It's powerful and well worth a read.
NRSV is best for most standard uses. Decent literary value, very readable, good literalness. It's probably the most ecumenical translation around: it has a Catholic imprimatur, is well-regarded by Jews, is liked by theology scholars, is always making inroads with various denominations, and was translated/revised by a diverse group.

Reading it right now. It sure looks to be all those things. Still going to try the KJV, Lattimore, perhaps others too, to reread my favourite passages.
