What's /lit/'s opinion of Kurt Vonnegut?
HE thinks he's funny and a biting satirist, emphasis on the he. He also reeks of communism and socialism. Early works are his best.

we used to love him
He's the thinking man's Douglas Adams.
Favorite author of that time

Gay nerd. He probably looked at naked pictures of men when he was alone

I concur
Vonnegut is literally the reddit of authors
just finished breakfast of champions and its not good. he repeats 2 or 3 jokes for 200 pages. thats the book. actually i liked the plot, but everything else sucked. kurt self inserting himself is kind of interesting but it doesn't lead to anything. makes me wanna reconsider my stance on slaughterhouse5 which i liked. or maybe BoC is just a worse novel? should i read more? what should i read next?

I'm reading his entire collection because I am a fan, but goddamn I can not finish BoC; maybe too meta for me but it just didn't keep my interest long.
Reading his letters completely changed my opinion of him, the guy was privately very conservative.

He's my favorite author but I bare in mind that his books can be hit and miss. Slapstick was pretty shit for example. Out of his good books none will top Slaughterhouse5.

lel so it goes XDused to love his stuff, but then I turned 20.

>reading the written Jew

I've only read Cat's Cradle which was frankly crap. He seems incapable of writing a human being or making a point that's not 'lol so randumb'. It was like reading Dick, but awful.

>i turned 20
Not very long ago, I see.

What's so good about Slaughterhouse?
I'm like 100 pages into it and it's just some reddit-tier shit so far about his time in the war and then writing about some priest who crashes in a plane and starts talking about aliens.

Now ur a top tier satirist!
self-important and lacking much depth, but a decent author for a bathroom read
