I havent read any of his works. There seems to be a circlejerk of hate around him and was wondering why

I don't hate him.
Never read him.
I have two of his books.
They sit on my shelf, unread.
It's been years.
I wonder if the hate he gets here results in my not reading him.

He's good if you just want a comfy read, most people here are just chimps repeating someone else's opinion without ever reading his works to get that sweet circlejerk validation.

Murakami is OK

I enjoy his works purely because they're all similar, decently written, and comfy as fuck. Judge me for it if you want but I'll continue enjoying the majority of what he writes.
