Don't get me wrong, he seems like a nice guy and that's undoubtedly part of his appeal. But he's pretty much the black Howard Zinn, in that he preaches how terrible and racist America is to an audience of milquetoast liberals.

He's too stupid to be a legend, honestly. Even for a Negro "intellectual" he's extremely resentful and superficial, but unlike Malcolm X, the poses he strikes are too awkward and uncinematic to hang on a young pseud's dormroom wall.
