Why and how does language evolve over time?
>>8769304
Because the lower rung of society will always and constantly create slang and/or twist words. Along with the fact that higher rung wordsmiths craft excellent vocabulary. The two intertwine and thus we get evolving languages. Watch "getting" become an old word for "gettin"

It's not a class-based phenomenon.

They provide to it, in the very least. Shakespeare gave so many common phrases to the English language and he was just one writer.

lmao no

Of course, but everyone contributes. Think of how much language enters parlance from the top of society. Governmental, technological. And to add to this, Shakespeare starts off as something common and then becomes a HIGH standard of language.
discover new thing
invent a new word for it
new thing replaces old thing
no longer need word to describe old thing
it falls out of use.

You're one of those idiots who complains about being born in the wrong generation, aren't you?
>>8769496
That only contributes to a very small part of it, like maybe less than 1% of it. Most languages have come and gone without very much technological development.
