I know this has been memed to death, but I never paid much attention to these sort of threads before. I've just bought these books for 10 bucks (the whole bunch). The translation is from Garnet. Is it any good? Have I been memed?

It's fine
The covers are horrendous, though

I don't know, I find them kek inducing for some reason.

I choose to believe that those covers are on a very deep layer of post-modern irony.
I mean, no one could seriously put those kinds of covers on a book...right?

I think it is a result of modern ad-men who haven't read the book making covers that seem to sell YA and genre-fiction novels. They don't realize that those covers don't appeal to anyone who actually wants to read those books.

I have a copy of Karamazov in that edition. Translated by Garnet.
I found it fine but again the cover art is comical
God fucking damn it Wordsworth Classics just put the book title and author on the front and fire your fucking designer

You weren't kidding
I don't understand. Not only why the do this but how can they get away with this.
