La vida del buscón Don Pablos is a fun read, but the old spanish is kinda hard to digest.

Suttree a drunk ne'er do well hangs out with his riff raff friends in 1950s Knoxville.
Banjo - a bunch of black ne'er do wells hang out in depression era Marseille and try to stay as drunk as possible while avoiding work as much as possible. Author self insert is an annoying jagoff though.
Tropic of Cancer middle aged wino tries to make ends meet while doing as little work as possible in 1930s Paris. Not as sexy as its reputation though he does like to use the word cunt prodigiously.
Literally every Pynchon novel

Gil Blas is fun, But i gotta go with OP's lazarillo de tormes, though he got a raw deal in the end by being a total cuck.
I'm hoping some day Guzman De Alfarache gets published, but I doubt it. The manuscript found in saragossa was too rife with nested stories, though the beginning was entertaining.

legit masterpiece. Picaresque + Gothic Horror fantasy that doesn't take itself too seriously. The complex stories within stories structure inspired Georges Perec's Life: an User's Manual. Count Jan Potocki shot himself with a silver bullet because he feared he was turning into a werewolf.

the wandering jew portion kinda sucked, breaking up the story so that autist could talk about calculus and so they could arbitrarily move camp and resume this or that story. it was just jarring after a while. just when it gets interesting "oh, some other jew that's more powerful said fuck you so i'm going to run to africa now"
I quite enjoyed Simplicius Simplicissimus. Reading Don Quijote right now.

don quixote isn't a picaresque. he is a knight errant, not a picaro.
