I shit on Zizek BECAUSE of Lacan. Marx got some things right, and can be considered worth reading, except for stupid things like historical determinism. Not sure what to think of dialectics.

Anyway, I have a sort of hate-love relationship with Zizek. On the one hand I find he is interesting, on the other hand I find that what he says is probably bullshit.

I come across Marx from other sources, books and actual interaction with hardline communists on RevLeft.
You are right about Lacan, but I read plenty of psychology to know that its bullshit.

If you want to go the way of making assumptions about people, I bet you are likely the type of person - especially considering /lit/'s demographics - that only reads classic philosophy and literature and doesn't concern yourself with contemporary philosophy or scientific books.

To fling some more shit at you: there's a high probability that almost all that you read fits into a stereotype. For what's it worth, everything I read could almost fit the STEM stereotype.
