Why do I feel so disappointed?

They were not very good books. It was bascially, then it got worse.
This looks like absolute trash. It's aping the best parts of the films instead of trying to do something new and looking all the worse for it, as well as coating itself in an already outdated milleneal sheen. And Warburton and Neil Patrick Harris? What's with these meme actors in place of an actual attempt at portraying character? Harris is LITERALLY quoting the exact same lines in Jim Carrey's style, but he can't manage it and the whole thing's coming off as a flaccid parody.
Is this real? I'm getting angrier and angrier as I think about it.
Violet and Klaus being the same height is triggering the fuck out of me. I realize a 14 year old girl isn't going to be very tall, but she should still be noticeably taller than a 12 year old boy.
But if they're trying to pass them off as being the same age, I won't even give this shit a chance, I swear to god.
I will admit that NPH in all those disguises is top-tier quality.

Sh-should I watch the trailer to the rape of my childhood? Is Violet qt at least?

>Is Violet qt at least?
She is. The actress is young, though: 13 right now, 12 when she was cast in the role.

I'm only going to watch it just to compare the settings to what I had imagined when I had read them in elementary school.
NPH looks like a fucking dollar store Count Olaf; Violet and Klaus aren't as morose as they should appear; and the dialogue is horrendous: there's just too much "humor."
That being said, I really hope this won't be as bad as we make it out to be. I don't want my childhood memories to be destroyed by some shitty, millennialized reboot.

Netflix makes technically impressive shows and films then proceeds to fuck them up with absolutely abhorrent casting choices. This is fact.
