As a Right-winger with very little experience in Philosophy beyond Madness and Civilisation by Michel Foucault.
I'm interested in reading Gender Trouble by Judith Butler. I've been an anti-Feminist for so long that I want to actually give academic-tier gender theory a chance. Should I read this or is it drivel?

Nigga just get laid for once so you don't hate women anymore and then give it a chance. I mean you sound more open minded than most and yes at the very least academic level gender theory is going to be more substantive than say, your average bullshit posted on Tumblr.

I have nothing against women. What makes you think that?
Just read the Second Sex by Beauvoir OP, it literally gives you every thing you need to know about these people.
lol good luck with that fag. that thing is incompehensible being unaware of the academic context where it took place. which is quite irrelevant outside american campuses and all the liberal kids that cant into philosophy cause they have no real life problems but want to play with its jargon.
Performativity is a fairly simple concept to get your head around. That said Gender Trouble can be a bit of a slog. Perhaps an intro-to queer theory might be in order before attempting to tackle that?

Is the text difficult to comprehend?

You should read Foucault's History of Sex first, Butler spends a lot of time on that.

For someone who is not well-versed in philosophy and theory, yes.
