Completely depends upon the location and property taxes. The "city" flyover country 20 minutes away has shitty homeless people, but im pretty sure the cops in my town execute the homeless who stray here in the woods and feed them to hogs in order to maintain the veneer of "vacation paradise".

As such our library strives to be a bizarre 50s ideal.

The public library I frequent in the Silicon Valley literally only has cute Asian women of every age. There's also a homeless guy that plays dating sims in the back corner, but that's pretty much it, in terms of the homeless there.

It's a nice library.

Pajeets always drop off their 10 kids at the library as if it's some sort of daycare. They stink up the place, run around, and are generally raucous and uncouth individuals. They have to go back.

Other than that, it's usually filled with loud highschool students or elderly people.

When I lived there I would go to the East Library up on north Union. Definitely recommend it, very nice atmosphere and comfy chairs. I believe homeless can't hang out in there too, which is awesome. They also have a cool little used books store, cheap and great selection.

This one (LAPL Memorial Branch) doesn't have too many volumes but they have sales every once in a while which is good. One of the librarians hates me for some reason. It's across the street from a terrible high school but fortunately the students stay out because it's a library and not a prison.

A fun fact: This is the library Ray Bradbury went to as a kid. I was going to see him give a reading there (only like 5 people showed up. Sad!) but he decided to die instead.

Scarborough Civic Centre Library is geographically the closest me. It's a bit small, although it looks nice after recent renovations. Filled with spooks, curries, and chinks. No free parking. Overall, a garbage library.
