1. Realize your own intuitions. Realize your biases. We all have them, nobody is objective. Read about Affective Primacy. Become aware of your own moral framework and how this affects the way you react to things.

2. Become open minded about everything. Understand all sides of an argument. Read Hayek, Friedman, Mises. Read about Keynes, about Social Equity, read Johnathan Haidt. If you're able to describe different positions of an argument in a fair way, then it can be said that you understand that argument better than most people.

3. Have high standards of where you get your knowledge. Avoid tertiary sources like the plague.

4. Form an all around coherent understanding of the world, with different topics from all fields coming together.
