Hey guys I want to read more but I almost never get quiet at my house. I don't want to listen to music while reading- I don't want my retention lowered, nor my experience lessened due to lack of focus on the bare text, but I may have to resort to drowning outside sound with a pair of headphones if this problem is fixed. Can you guys concentrate on reading in loud areas?
Noise cancelling headphones.

Earplugs, maybe?

I have those, but I don't like the concept of music while reading. If I have to, what music?

Noise cancelling headphones play white noise, not music.

Just go to the library or something, faggot.

are there headphones made for primarily blocking out noise? my headphones are pretty good at blocking out noise rn, however i would have to find white noise myself, which I guess is ok.

there isn't one anywhere nearby, faggot

Yes, there are. Alternatively, use your normal headphones to listen to white noise. There are a bunch of websites that'll stream you your perfect balance of white noise and/or nature sounds; I have these two bookmarked https://www.noisli.com/ https://mynoise.net/noiseMachines.php
