how do I come up with ideas for my book?

Seriously, though, just write about why you are struggling and you should be able to over come your writer's block. Just think about how you want your book to end, or the ultimate message you seek to express.

either write something to entertain yourself and keep working until you're genuinely entertained or write something you need to do research into and then mediate from there. Good books combine the two

You usually write a book to express ideas, not the other way around
