Do you want tiresome edgy stuff or disturbing literature? Take Stephen king or ligotti as the former and kafka as the latter

It's not horror, but it's dark. I'm certain other anons will criticize me for it, but the book is a short read: Mad Shadows, by Marie-Claire Blais
You can probably finish the book in a day even if you're an average reader.
Learn French and read:
heliglobalus by antonin artaud
The Songs of Maldoror by Comte de Lautréamont
Story of the Eye by Georges Bataille
The 120 Days of Sodom, or the School of Libertinage by Marquis de Sade
House of Leaves

I tried to read Bataille but dropped it after 2 pages. Is it better in French? Is it similar to Sade's work, or is it even more philosophical?
The worst one I've read. But it's postmodern and not very novice friendly.

Most disturbing book I've ever read is American Psycho. It's the only piece of media that has made me feel physically ill. Lots of boring shit in it though.
