Haven't read a novel in over two years. I'm itching for some horror. I hate flowery prose and like Hemingway's style.
What should I read?

Have you read the road?

I can't think of any Hemmingway Horror, but I'll just try not to recommend anything Lovercraftian
Adam Nevill is really good a building up tension to nearly unbearable levels:
The Ritual
>innawoods scary
Last Days
>spoopy skelletons
Jeff Long's The Descent
>not really horror, but has some horrific stuff
Dan Simmon's The Terror
>northwest passage horror
also Naomi's Room is pretty fucking scary. Don't read any reviews because I feel like 90% of the reviews for this book contain a kind of vague spoiler.

BOOKS OF BLOOD by Clive Barker.
RING or DARK WATER by Koji Suzuki (if you are into Asian horror style).
Anything by Thomas Ligotti if you're feeling depressed and nihilistic.

No, only saw the movie. McCarthy seems a bit heavyhanded for me at this point. I'm looking for a lighter read, a proper page turner that's written with precision.

Sounds interesting, will check out.

Read Books of Blood twice, they were fucking amazing.
Saw True Detective so I'm vaguely familiar with Ligotti, where do I start? To me he seems more of a philosopher/non fiction guy.

Get Teatro Grottesco, one of his later collections. If you dislike "flowery" prose, you should probably stay away from his earlier books like Grimscribe or Songs of a Dead Dreamer.
you should try Lovecraft
