Is Hemingway worth reading or is he just an american meme?
hey, memes have feelings too, you know

He's just a meme who offed himself for the literary recognition. He's the modernist DFW, if you will.

>He's the modernist DFW, if you will.
I won't
>Oh no I'm starting to FEEL
>only women have feelings, no brains though
>better get drunk
Hemingway in a nutshell

That.. sounds pretty inenjoyable.

Yeah, all jest aside, I've only read a handful of his works but all of his stories seem to revolve around the same things. There's always a journey, women who are greatly exaggerated to be clueless FEEL machines, drinking, and manly bravado. His prose is good, and imagery decent. I'd recommend his major works.

>who offed himself for the literary recognition
What does this even mean?

Don't pretend you don't know.

Struck a deal with the Nobel committee. His life in exchange for a prize.

what about For Whom the Bell tolls. there isn't really a major journey there, they just fuck around at some base camp no?
A Farewell to Arms was boring as fuck, wouldn't recommend

Holy shit that painting is more beautiful than any woman
I wanna fuck it so hard
HNNG.

Yeah I suppose you're right, the only real traveling in that book is when they have to go to the other camp. Honestly, For Whom the Bell Tolls was pretty boring.

What about old man and the sea? Other then a journey
