What made his atheism bearable was that it grew from his political and literary loves. He never got over how the world abandoned his friend Rushdie and he hated seeing people suffering under tyranny.
I can get behind Hitchens atheism promulgating because It's motivated by love and hate, as opposed to someone like Harris whose motivated by autism.
