Ulysses: Deluxe Edition
>>8688453
literally nothing like going into it without notes, and just flipping the book around to make sense of even tiny fragments of sentences.
>>8688453
Tends to get overlooked as a serious work. His greatest achievement desu.
I haven't read it, but from what I can tell, it's half meme and half serious work. It's completely worthy of analysis, even if he did write it as a massive fuck-you. If nothing else, it's simply impressive as a work of art
>>8689240
yeah seriously
>>8688453
Finnegans piece of cake desu
>>8688453

From random flipping around you find it's far more coherent than the memes lead you to believe. It's just that everyone gives up after bababadalgharaghtakamminarronnkonnbronntonnerronntuonnthunntro
varrhounawnskawntoohoohoordenenthurnuk

How does McKenna even know so much shit
>>8690481
He doesn't leave rocks unturned on his quest to thwart the lizard people desu

He was British though; he just wasn't English
>>8688467
Lol.

Yo soy mexicano y no entiendo nada.
We are not amused.
>>8688453
Critics keep people away by making it sound too serious and neglecting to mention how fun it is. I finally bit the bullet around age 30 by reading a few books about it and then taking a straight shot through it. I had a great time. FW would probably be my desert island book, in that a person can spend a minute or two on a page or hours and hours.
>>8690495
nah mate he was Irish.
English translation when? It must be possible because a Chinese translation exists.
>>8691159
Yes of course he was Irish. But he was also British
>>8691444
he was Irish but not British.
unless you're talking about the other James Joyce who wrote Belfasters.
