has any one read the bhagavad gita
i had previously read the "eknath easwarn" version and decided to pick the pic related "A.C bhaktivedanta swami prabhupada" and was wonder if there is a definitive most authentic version same goes for the upanishads if anyway has read those i had read the eknath easwarn version of that aswell and same goes for the yoga sutras and if any one has any questions or would like to recommend anything relating to hinduism please do
Everything about hinduism seems to reject authenticity. Every single copy I've seen of this book spells it's title a different way.

yeah thats one of the things that bothers me aswell, the one in the pic claims its translation to be the best but thats from the books point, aswell as differant comentrys contradicting others aswell as other concepts.
they've gone out of their way to keep sanskrit alive so you have the opportunity to learn it
ungrateful little peasants
Translating Sanskrit to modern English is ass enough as it is, and on top of that the Gita has a lot of 'read between the lines' type of shit, so there's no definitive translation to speak of.
Things like the Yoga Sutras are better read with a commentary, because that shit is literally supposed to be a practice manual on Yoga not a bunch of 'spiritual quotes' for New Agers.
