What is honestly the point of poetry? Narrative? Prose does it

The only difference between prose and poetry is that poetry typically has line breaks, while prose typically does not, and that poetry usually uses the rhythm and timbre of language in more expressive ways. There are plenty of major counterexamples to this, of course, but the point is that these qualities themselves don't necessarily do anything to diminish narrative, intellectualism, or emotion, and in some cases they can enhance narrative or emotion (maybe not intellectualism).
